Raise your mood by adding a little green to your interior in the form of an original terrarium.
Terrarium is a special container (most often transparent), in which different plants are collected and planted in the ground. The terrarium is also created to contain some animals, but this is a completely different story
Today we will do it only for beauty! Thanks to our lesson, you can easily decorate your work or dining table or other well-lit place.
- Transparent, glass jar or aquarium.
- Soil for plants
- Plants for a terrarium
- Watering can with water for irrigation
- Master OK
Take the container that you have chosen for the terrarium and pour about 3-6 cm of charcoal into it.
Pour the earth into a separate container and mix with a small amount of charcoal. You can mix both by hand and with a trowel.
Add a second layer
Now add the prepared earth to the first layer of coal. The fill level should be approximately one quarter to one third. After you finish laying the ground, walk a little trowel to remove the large air pockets in the ground.
Carefully empty selected plants from containers and plant them on top soil level. Plant the plants so that there is enough space between them to add ground.
Use your hands to press the ground around the planted plants. Add some more soil so that the plants are deep enough in the soil. Their roots should not leave the earth.
Put some moss on top of the soil and between the plants.
Now you can water the plants and put in a well-lit place (however, remember that the light should be reflected, not direct).
Caring for a terrarium is very simple. When the leaves grow beyond the level of the container, they will need to be trimmed.
Also do not forget to water the plants. How often to do this depends on the type you choose. However, for one watering, you should pour so much water from the watering can so that the soil becomes moist by 3 cm (this is easy to see, since you have a transparent container)
