Winter is almost in the yard and cold and lack of sunshine is enough to push some of us (including me!) To make warm decisions. This year, instead of overcast weather upsetting you and leading to a gray mood, why not create your own mini-world full of lush and beautiful plants to decorate your day, what if you create your own terrarium? Green plants are an excellent solution, they will remind you of the spring-summer period. plus plants will help improve indoor air quality. Despite the fact that you might think that a terrarium is difficult to do, then no! it’s easy! Do not believe us? Over the course of just a few hours last weekend, we have put together seven terrariums that are not only charming, but perfect for your home or a gift for your friends home.
Instructions below. traffic a lot of photos!
– glass jars, vases, bowls, glass, or something interesting glass in your hands
– Stones, pebbles or recycled pieces of glass
– Activated carbon
– Soil that is suitable for your plants
– Moss (optional)
– Figurines, sticks or decorative elements (optional)
– Various small plants
– Scoop, spoon or ladle
Step 1: Prepare the container
Remove all price tags and labels from your container. and wash thoroughly inside and out so that there are no unwanted residues that could affect the health of your plants. Imagine how you want the plants to look in a jar.
Once the container is ready, fill the bottom with stones or pebbles. This should create a false drainage layer so that the water can settle down and not come out to flood the plant. Depth is completely dependent on the size of your container, but aim for 1/2 "to 2".
Step 3: Add Activated Carbon
Charcoal looks exactly the same. Sometimes it looks like small granules, and sometimes it looks like small fragments. You don’t need much, just enough to cover the layer with stones. This will improve the quality of your small world including bacteria, fungi and unpleasant odors.
Step 4: Add Soil
Again, cacti and succulents need a special soil compared to most other plants, so be sure to fall asleep exactly the one that is needed for your plant. Add enough soil so that the roots of the plants have enough space. Strive for a little more depth than the height of the plant pot.
Take the plant from the pot and break a hard ball of soil until you reach the roots. If you divide the plant into several parts, be gentle. You can also trim the roots if they are especially long. Do not worry, they grow back. Using a spoon, fingers, the end of a brush, or even a pencil, dig a well to place the plants. Add more soil. Continue placing your little plant in a container and try to keep them away from the edge. The leaves will most likely be on the sides, but the goal is to keep them as far away as possible.
STEP 6: Add Accessories
After you land, you can add some accessories, such as a moss blanket, small figurines, old toys, glass beads, shiny metal objects, sticks, stones, or even a layer. This is your small world, and you can put everything you want.
STEP 7: Clean and Water
You most likely stained all the walls of the can, be sure to wipe off all the excess and put it in order. So you can enjoy the beautiful world of wildlife inside. Pour some water into the terrarium. Unlike most of your indoor plants, the terrarium does not need to be watered much.
